This month was Artists in Action at one of the local galleries in my town of Ellensburg,WA, Gallery One. All month they have had artists come in to work throughout the day, culminating in a 24 hr create-a-thon and their Paint Ellensburg auction and dinner. I came in to paint in the evening during the First Friday art walk, and then later in the month I came in for the 24 hr create-a-thon, which only ended up being 18 hrs. Hi there! Just got back from a fun trip to Joshua Tree with my love. What an other-worldly place! Also have been harvesting from the garden, last night we had a whole meal almost entirely of food from the garden, which is one of my goals for my life, to be able to do that for almost all of our meals.
Hey there! A lot has been going on lately. Boyfriend John and I moved back to San Diego just over a month ago. I planted many seeds in the first few weeks and now I have loads of seedlings! We have pots full of beets, leeks, lettuce, quinoa, radishes, basil, cabbage, and cauliflower, and a barrel with a bunch of kale, collards, and chard. There is one lonely garlic plant down in the garden not pictured in this post.
I’ve just started a new series of drawings! I am really excited for this project. I am excited because so far it has been really fun to make. I am basically doing pencil drawings and coloring them in with colored pencils and then I plan to cut them out and mount them on black paper and frame them all in the same type of frame so that they all go together and it will be a cohesive group. The final step will be posting them online for others to see and displaying the originals in a shop, cafe, or gallery. This project is fun because I am just letting my whimsical mind take over and create what it wants to create. There is no forcing to create anything, it’s pure creativity, which is the most fun kind.
