I’ve just started a new series of drawings! I am really excited for this project. I am excited because so far it has been really fun to make. I am basically doing pencil drawings and coloring them in with colored pencils and then I plan to cut them out and mount them on black paper and frame them all in the same type of frame so that they all go together and it will be a cohesive group. The final step will be posting them online for others to see and displaying the originals in a shop, cafe, or gallery. This project is fun because I am just letting my whimsical mind take over and create what it wants to create. There is no forcing to create anything, it’s pure creativity, which is the most fun kind. I am enjoying trying out different combinations of colors in each image. And it is also fun to get away from painting for a change and use a different medium. I am looking forward to the careful process of cutting the detailed images out with an exacto knife. I am most worried about adhering them to the paper once they are cut out. I must get adhesive, paper, and frames. I am planning to get a group of at least 10 images together before displaying them. I will definitely post some pictures once I get further along.
In addition to this creative project I built a large 30″ x 40″ canvas (with some help from my boyfriend John) and am currently working on an oil painting. It has already gone through many changes and I hope to create some type of flip book or at least series of photos to show the process it has gone through. I like the latest part I added to it, however I am a little bit stuck figuring out what exactly the next step is going to be. Which I guess is probably one reason I have started this other drawing project. It’s good to have at least 2 projects going though, for this reason, so that you can step back from one thing to gain some fresh ideas for it and also have something else you can work on.
I am planning to list my art for sale on my website soon. I have a few items listed over at my etsy shop, both prints and accessories. But eventually I’d like to have everything list here. Honestly, I have so many creative ideas I could spend every second of the rest of my life creating and still never get all of my ideas out.
